Last year's Samaritan reached peaks of popularity on Amazon Prime Video. The superhero production is set to receive a sequel, for which the same team will be responsible. Bragi F. Schut has once again been chosen as the screenwriter and the movie will not lack Sylvester Stallone. Also, the actor's label, Balboa Productions, is getting involved in the project (vide The Hollywood Reporter).

Sylvester Stallone was said to have signed a contract for the movie even before the actors' strike begins in early July 2023.. As of now, it is unknown whether anyone from the cast of the first Samaritan will also appear in the movie. Stallone is also a producer of the show, while Bragi F. Schut and Adam Rosenberg are executive producers.

Released in the summer of 2022, Samaritan tells the story of 13-year-old Sam Cleary. The boy believes that the hero who defended the city in the past is still alive. However, no one wants to believe him, as he suspects city cleaner Joe Smith of hiding his identity. In the end, it turns out that the boy is right and persuades Samaritan to help stop a gang following Nemesis, the superhero's twin brother walking the path of evil.

Samaritan met with a cold reception from reviewers and received only 38% positive reviews on Rotten Tomatoes. The situation is different for viewers, as already 71% of them gave a positive rating. Good words were mainly directed toward Stallone, who plays the lead role, but fans also appreciated the movie's more down-to-earth atmosphere than the one we know from usual superhero blockbusters.
