Aliens: Dark Descent Launches; Best Alien Game Ever?

The action game Aliens: Dark Descent has debuted on the market. The game by Tindalos Interactive promises to be a very solid proposal for all fans of the Alien universe.

After months of anticipation, the day of Aliens: Dark Descent's release has finally arrived. And although in recent years we have received several game about the bloodthirsty xenomorph, there are no isomeric action games among them. Thanks to Tindalos Interactive, this gap has finally been filled - and from the first reviews, the game seems to be doing quite well.

  • The game was released on PC, Xbox One, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series S, Xbos Series X and PlayStation 5.
  • The standard PC edition can be purchased on PC (Steam and Epic Games Store), as well as on consoles: PlayStation Store and Xbox Store, for $39.99

Solid reviews of Aliens: Dark Descent

It is known that you should form an opinion for yourself, but if you hesitate to decide to buy (or give up on) the new "alien" you can rely on reviews from industry critics. These, in turn, herald a pretty good title. On OpenCritic the average rating given by industry media is 72%. (based on 16 reviews).

Below we cite sample review scores:

  • God is a Geek - 90/100
  • GameStar - 82/100
  • CGMagazine - 80/100
  • Hobby Consolas - 78/100
  • GamesRadar - 70/100
  • IGN - 70/100
  • Eurogamer - 60/100
  • The Gamer - 30/100

According to journalists, Aliens: Dark Descent's addictive gameplay deserves praise first and foremost. The game was created with a strong respect for the original movies, so it should appeal to fans of the universe.

Unfortunately, in the opinion of some reviewers, the title is not fully polished, and emerging bugs can effectively take away the joy of playing.

"If it weren't for the technical issues, it would be one of the best Alien game ever. And it probably is. Borrowing features from the best troop-command tactical games and adding elements of its own, I don't think I've played anything that truly captures what was so cool about Alien since Aliens Versus Predator 2 by Monolith from 2001," concluded IGN's reviewer.

First impressions of the game on Steam also seem to be good. Among the player reviews issued so far (though still few), 86% praise Aliens: Dark Descent.

After years of study came a time of stagnation, which he preferred to call "searching for purpose." Looking out for destiny during the 58th screening of his beloved Die Hard, he decided – like John McCLane – to fight for a better future. He found the avenue to do this in Gamepressure. Since he's still a freshman in the newsroom, he doesn't have a target subject he wants to focus on yet.
